EXPERIENCE:

DJ Big Tits approached me to create a poster and animation for her birthday and leaving party. The mood board was intentionally flexible and expressive, drawing on ethereal and pop-art inspired imagery.

I really enjoyed working on this project as it pushed me to experiment with techniques I hadn’t used before. All of the visual elements were initially created in Blender, where I built separate scenes including the sea, flowers, and grass exporting each individually. Each element was rendered with heavy processing and exported with transparent backgrounds.

I then layered these elements together in Photoshop using different blending and overlay settings, effectively creating a collage-style composition for the background. This process helped achieve the dreamy, ethereal atmosphere that defined the final design.

Once the background was established, I added 3D typography and incorporated a frog element, which was an important detail Evie wanted! The project was a really fun creative process, and I especially enjoy working with artists where I can translate their personality and ideas into a strong visual identity.

Once the foundation of the design was established, it became easy to experiment with different colours and imagery. Initially, I introduced a repeating frog motif in the background, but it wasn’t visually strong enough, so we decided to add a 3D frog hopping across the artwork instead. This helped bring more personality and movement to the piece.

The goal was to create something that felt fun and playful while still maintaining a sleek, polished aesthetic. Throughout the process, I experimented with different typography options and colour palettes, particularly variations of blue and pink, before settling on the final combination shown here. I love how these colours balance the dreamy atmosphere with a bold, vibrant energy.

The typography was another key part of the development process. Evie was keen to explore several options, and we ultimately chose a lowercase script style that felt expressive and cohesive with the overall design. I’m really happy with how both the animation and the final 3D poster came together.
